Crows search for new Boss

Cwmbran Town are on the lookout for a new manager following the departure of Roger Gibbins last week.

Gibbins took over the Cwmbran post after the sad death of manager Tony Wilcox in April following a short illness.

The former Newport County and Merthyr Tydfil boss had been assisting Wilcox for a second time before taking over the reins, but his increased commitments with the Professional Footballers' Association and a local radio station meant that his time with the club was being affected.

Gibbins, who played more than 600 League games for the likes of Spurs, Norwich, Cambridge United and Welsh sides Cardiff, Swansea and Newport, took Cwmbran on an unbeaten 13-game run after succeeding Wilcox - a run that took Cwmbran into the UEFA Cup, and so nearly clinched them a historic Welsh Cup final win over Barry Town. 

Cwmbran Chairman John Colley was keen to praise Gibbins: "I cannot thank Roger enough for the way he went about his duties following Tony's death. He was a credit to the club. But with the pre-season and UEFA Cup not too far away I am looking to make an extremely quick appointment"
