Barry Face Boycott Bother

Barry Town players have revealed that they are prepared to boycott the Welsh Champion's Champions League games because of unpaid wages.

The 'South Wales Echo' claims that staff have not been paid for several weeks. A player, who did not want to be named, said:
"We've been having double training sessions for the last week or so and the atmosphere is not ideal. Players have mortgages and bills to pay, with some even taking overdrafts out to cover the cost.

"It has become ridiculous now. We have spoken to the powers-that-be who say they have other bills to pay, and we'll be paid for May's wages at the end of this month. But that's no good, waiting for wages that are at least a month late. This can't carry on and there's been talk of not playing in the European games in protest."

Dragons Chairman, John Fashanu admitted the club did have a serious cashflow problem. He said "The players have been told that they will not be paid until the end of the month. We have uncovered massive debts. This club is running to the tune of
£60,000-£70,000 a month and that is not on - it's a financial mess and it needs to be sorted out.
