All change at Llanelli

Llanelli have sensationally sacked their manager Leighton James for the second time in 3 years.

Reds Chairman, Robert Jones infuriated James (left) by informing him of his departure over the phone. The former Swansea and Wales star told the 'Llanelli Star' ''I just find it unacceptable that he should do it by telephone for the second time and not have the decency to come and see me. ''It is amateurish and cowardly. Obviously that is the way Mr Jones feels more comfortable dealing with his business. ''It is really disappointing, but it is not surprising at all.''

Following their relegation from the Welsh Premier, Jones who is Uncle of Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones, yesterday named former Carmarthen defender, Neil O'Brien as player-manager. O'Brien, 36 who has captained the Welsh Semi-Pro side will be assisted by former Llanelli favourite Lee Randall.

Jones (right) was delighted with his new management pairing and said "Both are local boys and highly respected in the Welsh soccer scene. I am more than pleased with the appointments, both live within a stone's throw of the club and are well versed in the local scene. Neil has played in the League of Wales for a number of years, as has Lee and I have been very impressed with their plans for next season".
