Lilywhites miss out on 20K Windfall

Rhyl have missed out on a 20k windfall, after ex-striker Lee Trundle confirmed he was walking out on Wrexham

Trundle (left) joined the Dragons from Rhyl in 2001 for a fee believed to be worth in the region of 50k. However it has since been revealed that the fee would rise to over 75k if Trundle agreed to sign a new 2 year contract at the Racecourse Ground

However Trundle, aided by his agent, has found several 2nd and 3rd division clubs who are prepared to offer him more money than Wrexham. 

It seems likely that Trundle will decide to team up with the man who brought him to the Racecourse, Brian Flynn - who is now Director of Football at the 3rd division club, who escaped relegation to the Conference by just one point last season. Trundle had said just 3 months ago that he 'wants to play at the highest standard possible'.
