Citizen Short Named Aber Assistant

Aberystwyth Town have named Bangor City defender, Chris Short as their new Assistant Manager. Short follows prolific striker Marc Lloyd Williams to Park Avenue.

Short, 32 was named Bangor City's Supporters player of the year 2002-3, and the reliable defender was a firm favourite at Farrar Road. 'Shorty' played for Bangor in their recent Intertoto games with Romanian side Gloria Bistrita, and his heroics in the first leg earned him the 'man of the match' award. 

Bangor City manager, Peter Davenport told www.citizens-choice.co.uk "Shorty is a good lad who leaves with our blessings, this is a first step into management and he has to take an opportunity like this when it comes along" Short will continue with his playing career at Park Avenue, and will feature in the Greens defence alongside Manager Gary Finley

And yet more good news for Aber, with another ex-Bangor star, Phil Baker agreeing to move to Park Avenue. Following his release from Tranmere Rovers, Baker established himself as a fans favourite playing at centre back for the Citizens last season, before being lured to Third Division strugglers Exeter City in March. Although the Grecians were relegated, Baker impressed and was offered a one year contract at St. James Park. Baker, 21,  promptly rejected this offer, opting instead to join Aber's big push for a top 3 finish next season.
