Connah's Quay Nomads have announced that they are looking to increase their number of Friday night games this season, in a bid to boost diminishing attendances at the Deeside Stadium

Quay Nomads are looking for a way to boost crowds at the
Deeside Stadium.
The Deeside club, who finished in a
creditable 5th place last season suffered from the lowest
average home attendance in the league, averaging just 158
paying fans through the turnstiles.
Nomads club secretary, Bobby Hunter has
blamed this alarming fall in attendances on an increase in
live Saturday games, and the club's proximity to larger
professional sides such as Wrexham, Liverpool and Everton, in
an interview with the Evening Leader.
However, according to Hunter, there is a
light at the end of the tunnel. "Friday night football
has been successful in some areas. Tranmere Rovers went down
the route of playing Friday night football and it certainly
attracted more people to their games. It worked for them and
hopefully it could do the same for us."
The Deesiders have been handed 5 Friday
night home fixtures in the new season fixture list
published yesterday, and it seems likely the club will seek to
add more to that list if an agreement can be reached with the
travelling clubs.
Meanwhile Nomads have been boosted by the
news that top-scorer Tommy Mutton is set to sign a new
contract today, following the majority of his team-mates and
new signing Karl Dunbar, who was recently released by Tranmere
Rovers
