Rae of Light for Depleted Citizens

Bangor City have clinched the signing of ex Manchester City player Rae Ingram.

The 29-year-old utility player is well known to Citizens boss Peter Davenport, as he was managed by Dav during his spell at Macclesfield Town. He signs from Port Vale, who released him after he suffered a multitude of injuries last season - including a serious bout of meningitis. 

The Manchester born defender has now fully recovered from his life threatening condition, and impressed during his debut for the Blues in a 3-0 win over Poulton Vics yesterday. Ingram spent 5 years at Maine Road but struggled to break into the first team. He joined Macclesfield Town intially on loan at the end of 1997-98 season, before completing a permanent move to Moss Road that summer, going on to be named captain of the Division 3 club under Peter Davenport. Ingram was then snapped up by division 2 side Port Vale on a bosman, but despite starting the 2001-02 season at left back at Vale Park injuries soon took their toll and he was replaced by Vale starlet Steve Rowland. 

Bangor boss Peter Davenport last week promised Citizen fans some new signings at the start of August, so it remains to be seen if ex-England international adds more players to his depleted squad before the new season kicks off.
