Newtown have completed the signing of former Manchester City and Shrewsbury Town midfielder Richard Harris. The 19-year-old has impressed on trial at Latham Park, scoring on his debut against a Chester City XI, and has now signed a contract with the Robins.

City midfielder Richard Harris. Harris, who has also played for Shrewsbury Town, has been on trial at ?? for the past few weeks, and has impressed in a series of pre-season friendlies. Harris found the net against a Chester City XI in July, and the Robin's will be hoping his goals can put them on their way to fulfilling their ambitions of qualifying for Europe. The 19-year-old attracted interest from several other Welsh Premier League clubs, but Newtown chairman Phil Trenbath is delighted he chose a move to Latham Park. With the addition of Richard Harris and the resigning of Steve Futcher, we have made two good additions to the squad," said Trenbath.
