The league has been boosted by the news that it will be sponsored by JT Hughes Mitsibushi for another season. The car company also plan to increase public-awareness of the league, which could see an increase in attendances and media attention.

| JT Hughes Mitsubishi will continue to
sponsor the Welsh Premier League for the forthcoming season, after a deal
was struck believed to be worth £250,000. The sponsorship of the league by JT Hughes Mitsubishi started in October 2002, and both parties are delighted with how things have gone for the first season. It is also the intention of Mitsubishi Motors UK, to increase public awareness of the Welsh Premier. This is fantastic news for the league, as it will hopefully see a boost in attendances, and possibly an increase in media attention that fans have been crying out for. Welsh Premier Secretary John Deakin is delighted at the confirmation of the extended deal. "It's a better deal than we had last year and it gives the league continuity," said Deakin. "We are in negotiations to extend the sponsorship to
five years, and Mitsubishi are going to use their marketing department to
promote the league further." |
