Barry Town fans last night heard the full extent of the champions' financial problems. Dragons fans must raise £100k if the club is to survive the first month of the season.

Town fans last night learnt the full extent of the Welsh
Champions financial problems at a meeting last night.
The most
worrying news was that the club needs to raise £100k to see
it through this month as players and staff have not been paid
for over two months.
Following
the departure of controversial chairman, John Fashanu the
Dragons have lost several key first team players and look
likely to suffer further departures in the coming days.
Club director Dr.
Liz Davies is set to meet the players today to explain the
club's position. He last night informed the fans the next few
weeks are crucial to the survival of the club and has called
an EGM for 1st September.
Barry
Town Supporters' Club chairman, Tim Johnson, has set a target
of raising £20,000 by the end of this week to help save the
club. The defending champions kick off the new season with a
tricky home game against Aberystwyth on Friday evening.
