Supporters of Welsh Premier football clubs Barry Town and Afan Lido will join together this Sunday to raise money for Ty Hafan Childrens Hospice. The two sets of fans will be playing each other at Barry’s Jenner Park home at 2pm with the aim of raising as much money as possible for the charity and for raising its profile.
“We have a full set of events going on throughout the day,” explained Ian Jones, one of the Barry Town players. “The match between the two fans teams is obviously the highlight, but after the game we’ll be holding a quiz and other fun events in the club to try and raise funds for Ty Hafan.
“Ty Hafan is a local charity for Barry and they perform some outstanding work. “What we want to do is to have some fun and raise money for a good cause at the same time, and we hope that as many people as possible will join us and enjoy the entertainment.”
The game kicks off at 2pm. Entrance is £1 and all monies raised go to Ty Hafan. AG Mortgages and Insurance have generously agreed to sponsor the match and help the charity. More information on Ty Hafan can be found on their website at http://www.tyhafan.org/
