No Show Shannon Gets Druids Boot

The Ancients top scorer disappointed manager Steve O'Shaughnessy earlier in the season when he mysteriously disappeared for 3 consecutive games. On his return he promised to buck up his ideas but his absence from last Saturday's defeat at Port Talbot has forced O'Shaughnessy into letting the former Christleton striker go.

O'Shaughnessy told the Evening Leader "Aden promised me he'd be there for the Port Talbot game last week and didn't turn up. He doesn't seem to be bothered and he won't play for the club again."

He added: "He may be one of the league's top and best goalscorers but his attitude isn't right at all and it seems like he just doesn't want to play for the club." 

Shannon's eye for goal caught the attention of Connah's Quay Nomads boss Nev Powell in February, but Shannon turned down the offer of more money to stay at Plaskynaston Lane, making his latest no-show all the more baffling and frustrating for the Druid's faithful.

Meanwhile Druids take on Welsh Premier rivals Bangor City in a friendly at Plaskynaston Lane tonight. Both clubs are without a competitive game this weekend and will use the encounter to give a run out to a number of fringe and youth players.
