O'Brien Commits to Llanelli

Llanelli FC supporters will be delighted to hear that manager Neil O'Brien has committed his future to the West Welsh outfit for the 2004/2005 season. The Reds boss had considered leaving due to financial problems at Stebonheath Park and a series of work commitments.

Newly-promoted Llanelli FC have been handed a welcomed boost as they prepare for their return to Wales' top flight, with manager Neil O'Brien committing his future to the club.

There had been questions over O'Brien's after questions were raised over the financial stability of the club, but a meeting with chairman Robert Jones has reassured the Reds boss that the club has the finances to fulfil ambitions of a successful Welsh Premier season next term.

Heavy work commitments also saw O'Brien close to leaving Stebonheath Park. However, fans of the West Welsh outfit will be delighted to hear that the man who led them to the Welsh League championship last year will lead the team next year.

"I'm staying," said O'Brien. "The budget is still not in place but we needed to make a decision either way."

"We put a lot of hard work into last season and, if we had finished, a new manager would have had to start from scratch. We need stability at this club and we want to build on what we have achieved."
