Brace and Thomas scoop monthly prizes

Deryn Brace and Neil Thomas receive late Christmas presents by scooping the Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards for December.

THE monthly Manger and Player Awards for December have been announced, with the champagne corks opening at the south end of the county.

 

Haverfordwest manager Deryn Brace scooped the manager’s award on the back of three wins and two draws through December.

 

County’s defensive record remains impressive, having conceded only seventeen goals so far this season. This strength contributed much to their unbeaten run during the month.

 

County’s three wins were against Aberystwyth Town and Llanelli at home and away at Caernarfon Town, while the draws were shared with high-flying Rhyl at Belle Vue and against neighbours Carmarthen Town.

 

Meanwhile, bottom club Llanelli will be celebrating after Neil Thomas earned the Welsh Premier League club managers’ vote in the Player of the Month award.

 

The 22 year-old Neil has made just nine appearances for the Reds after signing from Taff’s Well in November and made his mark as an extremely creative midfielder.

 

Originally from Gwynedd, he played for Nantlle Vale and Porthmadog Reserves among others before moving south on a posting with the Royal Air Force.

 

His present boss, Nicky Tucker, said: “He moved from Taff’s Well before I made the same journey and it’s a pleasure to have him in my squad.

 

“He has tremendous talent and could be one of the Welsh Premier’s future stars.”
