In a controversial Welsh Cup semi-final at park Avenue, Rhyl beat Port Talbot 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 draw. In the league, the European race hotted up, with Llanelli and Welshpool dropping points, Carmarthen won 3-0 to gain on them. TNS won to get closer to the title.
