Leeds vs. Pontypridd - It's a Saturday!

The Parker Pen Cup match between Leeds Tykes and Pontypridd has been confirmed by the ERC as S4C's Saturday evening match. For full details read on.

Saturday night or Sunday afternoon

        Pontypridd R.F.C have confirmed that the Parker Pen Cup Round 2 (Second Leg) match away to Leeds Tykes will be played on  Saturday 14th December, kick off 17.30 . Leeds Tykes had originally planned to hold the game on Sunday 15th December however Welsh language broadcaster S4C had intended to show the match as its Saturday evening game.

        Pontypridd R.F.C issued the following statement:

"A dispute has taken place over the past week, between Pontypridd and Leeds Tykes, as to the date of their Parker Pen European Challenge Cup second round tie, away at Leeds. The Yorkshire club were insistent that the game would take place on Sunday 15th December, whilst Pontypridd adhered to the proposed TV scheduling, with the tie to be shown live on S4C on Saturday evening 14th December. The governing body of the competition, the ERC have now intervened and decreed that the game will be staged on the Saturday evening, 14th December"
