More Warriors Recruited!

After all the top clubs agreed with Wales coach Steve Hansen that no player who is in the World Cup squad will play until at least a week after the World Cup ends, Lynn Howells has made moves to boost his squad by calling up a number of players. For more details read on.

Having discovered earlier this week that the players who are due to play in the World Cup will not be joining the Celtic Warriors until the end of November at the earliest, coach Lynn Howells has made a move to recruit some extra backup just in case his squad encounters problems during the early season.

Pontypridd RFC, the club which Howells coached last season have reported that the following players will be part of the Warriors squad until World Cup players are back. Wingers Emyr Lewis and Richard Fussell, centres Shaun James and Lee Thomas, scrum half Tommy Walsh, prop Gerald Cox, hooker Duane Goodfield, second row Ian Evans and flanker Jonathan Edwards.

There are also expected to be a number of Bridgend players being called into the squad for pre season training with the Warriors but at the moment nothing has been announced. However, one player who looks set to be a part of the squad is Gareth Cull who, as we understand it, has been given a short term contract to cover the full back position during the World Cup.
