New Board Of Directors at Pontypridd RFC

Pontypridd RFC, former partners of the Warriors have elected 12 new directors to run the club in the future. Gareth Thomas, former Warriors CEO failed in his bid to get re-elected along with the other 3 previous directors who stood for election. Read on for more.

    An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of Ponty Rugby Limited took place last night in order to elect a Board Of Directors for the company. Only four of the existing directors stood for election but none of the four were elected to the Board. Gareth Thomas, former CEO of the Warriors, Bill Harris, Sam Simon and Richard Hope all decided to offer themselves for re-election but supporters who purchased shares in the new entity clearly didn't want the same old faces running the club after the recent problems that it has encountered.

    The new directors of the club are Jack Bayliss, Guto Davies, Roger Davies, Roger Davies, Theresa Davies, Mike Edwards, Peter Howells, Alun Jones, Brian Morton, Steve Reardon, Perry Stephens and Cenydd Thomas however what we don't yet know is whether they will try to bring Pontypridd back into the Warriors set up in the future - a task which will not even start until the club gets back on its feet. After all, Leighton Samuel purchased Pontypridd's share in the region for a substantial sum of money after discovering the extent of the debt run up by Pontypridd over the professional era and so he is hardly likely to welcome them back into the Warriors set up until they are able to offer financial help to the Warriors - something which isn't likely to happen.

   Another meeting of shareholders will be held within the next month where shareholders will find out more about the intentions of the new board and whether or not they will try to bring Pontypridd back into the regional set up.
