Newcastle Falcons have signed former Celtic Warriors openside Cory Harris from Bridgend Ravens. For the full story and quotes read on
The 29-year-old spent last season at the Celtic Warriors in Wales before the cruel culling of the regional outfit.
Harris said: "The Falcons are ambitious as a club so I'm just delighted to be part of the whole thing."
Falcons director of rugby Rob Andrew said: "Cory is a good player, did well for the Celtic Warriors and was unlucky not to get picked up in the summer."
(Zippy - Cory is a "good" player!!! Understatement of the year)
Cory was forced to sign for Bridgend Ravens at a semi-professional level despite being the outstanding openside in the Celtic League last season. He took up a developement role and I'm sure many kids in the Bridgend area have benefited from his wisdom.
Its been clear than Cory is a big fish in a small pond at Bridgend and although he has knuckled down and not gone crying to the press about his plight he deserves to be playing at a higher level.
I'm not sure where this leaves his Wales international cause or if he has given up this hope.
Everyone associated with the Celtic Warriors will wish him well in the future and I'm sure he'll be a thorn in the side of many teams in the Zurich Premiership.
Rob Andrew seems to be talking about him like a squad player, I think he will end up being far more than that.
Good luck Cory.
