The draw for the semi Finals of the Konica Minolta Cup has been announced, Pontypridd face Aberavon and Bridgend take on Llanelli, for details of the games read on.

Bridgend vs Llanelli

Sunday 17^th April KO 3pm

Twelve-time champions Llanelli will face two-time winners Bridgend in the semi-finals of the Konica Minolta Cup at The Gnoll, Neath.

The last time the two teams played in front of TV camera’s Llanelli ran out convincing winners in atrocious conditions at Stradey Park.

Since then Bridgend have hit top form and will go into the tie full of confidence, the Gnoll has not been a happy hunting ground for the Ravens down the years and they will be looking to change that.

The draw for the semi final round of the Konica Minolta Welsh Cup has given Pontypridd a tough game against the Wizards of Aberavon, the tie to be played at the Brewery Field Bridgend on Saturday 16^th April, kicking off at 3.00pm.

Ponty's cup run has certainly caught the imagination of the club's army of supporters, with a big following turning up for the recent away ties at Whitland and Banwen. The semi final round at the familiar venue of the Brewery Field will hopefully continue this trend, building up the momentum of Ponty's challenge to clinch the trophy.

Aberavon have already disposed of Premiership form teams Neath and Newport on this season's cup trail, and Ponty coach Simon King realises the magnitude of the challenge which awaits his young team. "Aberavon will be tough opponents" said King following the draw, "and having knocked out some of the big guns on their way to this stage of the tournament, they certainly deserve their place there. The cup semi final will be a totally one off game, all on the day, and we now have two weeks to prepare for what will be a huge physical challenge up front. I hope the Brewery Field will prove to be a good venue for us, with a big turn out of Pontypridd support to spur the boys on."

Before turning their attention to the Aberavon cup game, Ponty have a league double header against Bedwas to contend with. The previously postponed away game against Bedwas has been rearranged for Wednesday evening 6^th April, kicking off at 7.15pm before a return tie at Sardis Road against the same opponents on Saturday 9^th April.
