THIS Principality Premiership match was dubbed "the Battle of the Brewery Field" by supporters after they'd witnessed a game ruined by fighting from start to finish.

The trouble broke out early between the opposing front rows and festered for most of the 80 minutes with the Ravens going for the double and Pooler needing the points to stay clear of the relegation zone.

Referee Mike Aplin tried talking to the players and the captains then dished out five yellow cards and a red.

In between the fighting, Pontypool had the better of the first half, but lacked the penetration or guile to pierce the Ravens' defence and the home side led 3-0 at half-time thanks to a Gareth David penalty.

The Ravens then hit top form in the third quarter and tries by the evergreen Brendan Roach and Ieuan Dobbs with a David conversion stretched that to 15-0. Pooler found a way to get past 14-man Ravens, but two tries in three minutes by Mike Poole was not enough.
