We bring you a match report less than an hour after the action finishes. For all the information on how the game finished read on.

Neath - 42

Pontypridd  - 21

In a testimonial match for Neath second row Gareth Llewelyn, Neath ran out comfortable winners 42 points to 21. With a try count of six to three Neath perhaps deserved to win this entertaining encounter however Pontypridd will see the game as a useful workout as it gave them the chance to experiment with Paul John normally a scrum half playing outside half.

Gareth Baber, scrum half scored two of Pontys three tries with flanker/number eight Geraint Lewis scoring the other. For Neath Dave Tiueti looked particularly impressive playing at centre and touching down twice and Shane Williams, returning from a series of injuries also touched down.

Ponty may be disappointed with the result today but on a more positive note, the injury sustained by Neil Jenkins is not as serious as it was first thought. Ponty are hopeful that Jenkins will be fit to play in five weeks time meaning he will only miss the Celtic league opener against Leinster. The rest of the squad will now spend the next seven days preparing for their match against Coventry before they travel out to France to face Narbonne.
