Tonight’s game at Old Trafford is the first big test of the season for David Moyes’ men. Everton have not yet played one of the Premiership’s top sides, but head into the clash with United aiming to overcome a dismal record against Ferguson’s side, with the last victory coming in the 1995 Cup Final.

Tonight is a good opportunity to gauge the progress made under Moyes. He certainly has the chance to improve Everton’s record against the Premiership’s top sides, as in recent season’s the Blues’ form has been miserable. Very few people will give Everton a realistic chance of getting anything out of the game, but if the Blues show more of the determination instilled in them by Moyes then there is an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Bolton. United have struggled to break sides down this season, and we can only hope that we don’t play them into form.

Everton have doubts over Campbell and Wright, and it would be a shame if Campbell’s recent hot streak were blighted by injury. Hopefully United will miss the presence of Keane and Ferdinand, and with any luck the Neville’s will make a blunder or two. I hope that Skysports’ viewers get the chance to see the progress made under Moyes, and there would be no better way to highlight this than with an unexpected point or three.
