"Flag Day" – The one year anniversary

It seems that the decision has finally been made to present Manchester United with the Premiership trophy after Everton have completed their lap of honour.

Fortunately, this debate about the presentation has ensured that the Blues aren’t tempted into a “flag day” as they were for the game against Blackburn last year. Thankfully the idea was largely greeted with apathy.

The club have stated that the trophy will be presented to United half an hour after the end of the game, and will be made infront of the United fans housed in the Bullens Road Stand.

While it still remains a worry that United fans without a ticket may attempt to enter the ground when the gates are opened, it’s hard to believe that there will be a major incident. This will be especially the case should the Blues fail to qualify for Europe, in which case the atmosphere would be muted to say the least. Nonetheless the “lap of appreciation” has rightly been given the go-ahead.

Meanwhile, Moyes has told www.evertonfc.tv that he is now an Evertonian:

“I’m an Evertonian. I feel right in there with the supporters, ingrained and embedded in it all.”

Last time I checked Walter was still “Disappointed”.
