Honda Racing F1 kick off Jerez test

The Honda Racing F1 Team began a three-day test at the Circuito de Jerez in Southern Spain today. The first of two tests at the Spanish circuit in the next fortnight sees the team preparing for the final three races of the Formula One season which will be held in China, Japan and Brazil.

The weather conditions in Jerez today were warm and windy with ambient temperatures reaching a high of 28°C.

Rubens Barrichello and Anthony Davidson began the programme with set-up work to find a good balance on their respective cars as the circuit began to clean up throughout the morning session. Both drivers then spent the remainder of the morning working on aero evaluations, with Rubens also completing some electronic systems work. Anthony completed 50 laps this morning, with Rubens completing 51 laps.

Anthony spent the afternoon working through a tyre programme looking at the options for the forthcoming Chinese Grand Prix. He finished off the session with a further short aero programme. Anthony completed 76 laps in the afternoon, taking his total for the day to 126 laps.

Rubens also concentrated on tyres this afternoon in addition to continuing his electronic systems work. Rubens completed a further 63 laps for a total of 114 laps today.
