Testing: Round Two Begins

December 5 2002

The second round of winter testing got under way today, with British American Racing joining Jaguar, McLaren, Renault, Toyota, and Williams at Barcelona.

Taking the reins at BAR was long term test driver Anthony Davidson, who managed to complete 96 laps without incident.

Testing of the 2002 car again concentrated on developments of electronics, software and sensors, where solid consistent laps are more important than outright lap times.

The highlight of the day was again Antonia Pizzonia writing off his second Jaguar within three days, the first being a Jaguar S Type R road car being demonstrated for journalists. Today Pizzonia drove head on into a wall, severely damaging the Jaguar R3B hybrid car.
