Jenson Button has been named the British Competition Driver of the Year. The Lucky Strike BAR Honda ace was presented with his accolde at the annual Autosport Awards staged in central London on Sunday evening, 7 December.
Adding to the occasion, Button was presented with his trophy by England Rugby World Cup hero Matt Dawson.
"I'm definitely a more experienced driver," said a delighted Jenson. "We work as a team, and there's a fantastic atmosphere in the team. From the moment I got there we just got straight to work and we did it well. Next year is going to be very important."
Button was equally excited to be sharing the spotlight with Dawson. "I watched the final in the Columbus Hotel in Monaco. I think it was the most emotional day of my life!" he admitted.
