Sato and Davidson in action at Jerez

The Lucky Strike BAR Honda test team were in action yesterday in Jerez with drivers Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson. The focus of the day's programme has been developing the new rear-end for 2004 and tyre evaluation.

Taku, who has been driving the 2004 Concept car, completed 47 laps, recording a best time of 1:25.931 - the fastest lap time of the day. Davidson meanwhile achieved 70 laps in the BAR Honda 005, with a fastest lap of 1:26.738.

After a constructive morning, the drivers experienced torrential rain this afternoon causing the team to cut short Monday's testing programme. As Taku was returning to the pits, his car hit some standing water, causing the car to aquaplane off the waterlogged circuit. The car suffered minimal damage to the rear wing and is being repaired ready for today.
