The British Racing Drivers Club, custodians of British motorpsort, held their annual awards ceremony on Friday 14 January, awarding trophies to both Jenson Button and ousted team boss David Richards.

Jenson Button won the BRDC Gold Star for the first time, an award handed to the youngster in recognition of his successful year in Formula One. He was also handed the Richard Seaman Trophy, an award given to the most successful British driver in a major international series.

David Richards bagged the Colin Chapman Trophy, the BRDC's special award, for his achievements over 20 years with Prodrive, and his hugely successful time with BAR.
