Good mileage on opening day

Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda has exclusive use of the circuit in Valencia this week and kicked off a proposed three-day test this on Tuesday morning in bright but windy conditions.

Jenson Button and Takuma Sato have the driving responsibilities for this test, driving chassis 007-02 and the '05 Concept car respectively.

Jenson spent the morning running through an aerodynamic programme, completing 54 laps. Takuma worked on finding a good set-up in the car although this was made difficult by the windy conditions. He completed 61 laps.

In the afternoon session, Jenson ran through a tyre evaluation programme in chassis 007-02, covering 57 laps over a series of five runs, totalling 111 laps for the day. Takuma worked through a tyre compound programme over long runs, completing 77 laps which took his final lap tally for the day to 138 laps.
