BAR Honda escape six month ban

BAR Honda have survived the (unlikely) threat of a six month ban from Formula One following today's FIA hearing where the team were found guilty, along with six other teams, of bringing the sport into disrepute.

The ban was a possibility following BAR Honda's transgression of the rules at the San Marino Grand Prix back in April. The team were banned from three races for running with fuel as a form of ballast, and were also hit with a six month race ban, suspended for 12 months.

"The suspended ban was for a reason and as long as they did not transgress in a similar area then it would not be a problem," said Max Mosley after today's hearing. "It would be unfair to single them out when the others had a problem."

The team are now in a meeting with the other six Michelin runners regarding their response to the findings released today.
