France: Jenson Button chuffed with five points

Jenson Button finally managed to get Lucky Strike BAR Honda of the starting line today, bringing home five valuable points for the Brackley squad after half a season to forget.

"It's a nice feeling," said Button. "It would have been nice to get on the podium but it's a great result for us. We've struggled this year for various reasons but it's great to get some points.

"For us to get fourth at the moment is a great result, I'm sure everyone's going to be pretty chuffed with that."

It wasn't all plain sailing for Jenson, with some vehicle gremlins appearing through the race. "In one of the corners I had a problem shifting down from fourth to second," said Jenson, "and it was just pushing me on and I was getting big issues there."

The result, long delayed from the start of the season, comes on the back of various problems for the team, with BAR Honda pulling out of the Australian GP late in the race, being disqualified for fuel tank irregularities, and missing the Indianapolis race two weeks ago.

"It's just a little bit of luck really," admits Jenson. "We have made some mistakes as well, the team and myself, so it's good to be on the scoreboard."

The result is bound to lift the spirits back at the teams Brackley headquarters as they prepare for the British Grand Prix in just seven days.

"This is a good base for Silverstone," added Jenson. "We've got to be positive for next weekend. Hopefully we're going to have the same sort of result."

"Hopefully we're going to have lots of fans cheering us on in Silverstone."
