Super Aguri F1 hit the track

Super Aguri F1 took their first steps into Formula One today, running their modified 2002 Arrows chassis, mated to a new Honda engine, for the first time today.

Driven by Takuma Sato, the team ran their SA05 up and down the runway at the Kemble airfield in Gloucestershire. The plain white car ran faultlessly, although this was purely a shakedown to test system functions and the like.

The Leafield based team will now take the SA05 to Barcelona for its first 'proper' test, running alongside their competitors from 21 February for three days.

The in-house designed SA06 is expected to appear early in the European season.
