Honda Racing F1 test kicks off in Italy

The Honda Racing F1 Team began a three-day test at the Vallelunga circuit in Italy yesterday morning, the first of two tests scheduled before the next Grand Prix at Imola in two and a half weeks time.

Weather conditions are much improved since the team's last visit to Vallelunga a fortnight ago, with ambient temperatures reaching 26°C at lunchtime.

Anthony Davidson and James Rossiter began the test yesterday, concentrating on tyre programmes and looking at options for the forthcoming European races, alongside chassis set-up work.

Anthony completed 120 laps, setting the fastest time of the day – a 1:12.804 – with James completing a total of 132 laps.

Jenson Button will join the team today, taking over from James.
