Roberts Gets Welsh Call

Young full back, Jamie Roberts, has been called up to the Welsh squad to cover the injuries to key backs.

The Cardiff-born CRFC product was offically called up to train with the squad yesterday, following injuries to Mark Jones, Shane Williams, Tom Shanklin and a possible suspenion over Gareth Thomas.

With Rhys Williams also out, Roberts, who has been a stand out Premiership player this season, was seen as the next option.

That takes the Cardiff Blues players representing Wales up 10, 11 if you were to include summer signing Gareth Thomas.

Gareth Jenkins' Welsh side to take on Ireland on Sunday, will be announced on Thursday.
