There are 5 Cardiff Blues players selected in Gareth Jenkins' Welsh squad to take on the Auzzies in Saturdays match, with 4 making the first fifteen. Saturdays match will be the first of two test matches against the Austrailians, with the second a week later.

And i will be reporting here from Oz as the mighty reds take on their World Cup opponets in the 8.00pm (UK Time) kick off.

The team sheet reads;

15 Byrne
14 Alfie (c)
13 Jamie Robinson
12 Sonny Parker
11 Czekaj
10 Hook
9 Phillips

1 Iestyn Thomas
2 Matthew Rees
3 Adam Jones
4 Cockbain
5 Sidoli
6 Charvis
7 Gavin Thomas
8 Jon Thomas

Replacements;

Richard Hibbard, Ceri Jones, Michael Owen, Scott Morgan, Ceri Sweeney, Gareth Cooper, Gavin Henson.

It will be Gareth Thomas' 93rd cap, pushing him clear of Gareth Llewellyn as Wales all time most capped player. Gareth Jenkins' has even stated he believes Alfie will go on to record over 100 caps before he retires.

However there was bad news for Blues hooker gareth Williams, who after being a leate call up himself, has been sent home due to injury, meaning he will miss both tests and realistically now, any hope of getting into the Worl Cup Squad.

It will be avery interesting game for the fans, who know the two sides meet in Cardiff in a few months, but in the Worl Cup. Though both sides will be looking much different in the September fixture, its a chance for each manager to suss each other out, plus a last chance for the players to put their hand up to be in the squad 4 months from now.
