7 Blues Start for Wales U21

7 Blues representatives start for Wales Under 21's against Scotland on Friday night. They include 3 cardiff RFC, 3 Pontyprydd and 1 Cardiff Blues contracted player, all of whom are under development contracts with the region.

Like Wales full side, the under 21's are the current Grand Slam champions, but after a dispointing loss to the old emeny last weekend, look unlikely to retain their title.

Wales lost 26-18, with tries from starlet Jamie Roberts and a penlty try not enough to beat the English. Roberts was highly prasied following the game, scoring a sensational solo-try, and retains his place in the national line-up.

Other CRFC players include recently capped Blues centre Dafydd Hewitt and prop Rhys Gill.

Ponty's hooker Duane Goodfeild, who many Blues fans will know much about, gets the nod as does club mate Rhys Shellard at flanker.

Chris Czekaj who missed out on a place in Wales full squad starts for the under 21s. Czeakj 1 appearence, 1 try record with Ruddock, having gone to Canada and the US in the summer. He was included in the Autumn internationals squad, but was not called on and was deemed not ready by the main team.

Ponty's Tom Riley makes the bench also.
