25th July Jerez Test: Luke's Round-Up

The second day of testing at the Jerez Circuit in Spain got underway today and some race drivers actually did show up! Franck Montagny stepped down from the driving duties and racer Ralf Schumacher was instead in action for Toyota today. Ralf finished in...

...Second place with a best time of  1.20.540 just behind World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton in the Mclaren-Mercedes who was fastest with a 1.19.670.

Williams-Toyota tester Kazuki Nakajima was third fastest for the second day running ahead of Polish driver Robert Kubica in the BMW-Sauber. Heikki Kovalainen was fifth fastest for Renault and Aussi Mark Webber rounded out the top 6 for Red Bull Racing on a time of 1.21.071.

Eight Drivers from eight teams participated and the final two places were taken by Honda powered cars with Super Aguri Honda once again getting the better of parent team Honda Racing. Briton James Rossiter finished 7th for Aguri on a 1.21.315 compared to Rubens Barrichello's 1.21.444 for Honda.
