Panasonic Toyota Racing
ended its second day of testing at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Italy
today. Olivier Panis and Cristiano da Matta together completed over 800
kilometers in readiness for the Italian Grand Prix next week, while test
driver Ricardo Zonta conducted more development work. Olivier
Panis Chassis: TF103/03 Laps completed: 59 Best time: 1m22.65s Working on: Michelin tyre work "Our focus today was on tyre testing and we conducted evaluations of the Michelin compounds ahead of the Italian Grand Prix. We started testing aerodynamic items for this race but not too much, not to interfere with the tyre information. Tyre work this week is an all important aspect as everyone knows and I am really happy with today's results." Cristiano
da Matta Chassis: TF103/07 Laps completed: 81 Best time: 1m23.11s Working on: Michelin tyre work "Just like Olivier, I worked mainly on tyre testing today, and I am equally happy with what Michelin brings us for the upcoming race. Even if we waited for the rain to stop this morning, we made good use of the rest of the day and we will conclude the evaluations tomorrow to set our final choice for the Grand Prix next week." Ricardo
Zonta Chassis: TF103/06 Laps completed: 56 Best time: 1m22.91s Working on: Long term general development work "We continued to test a wide range of items looking up to the longer term, not only the last races of the season but even beyond. We conducted some good work on the set-up of the car and also tried various mechanical items. We had a trouble-free day which is ideal to complete this type of ground work." |
