USA: Trulli again makes history with Pole

Jarno describes himself as 'really happy with the outcome with qualifying' as the Italian scores his third career pole at Indianapolis. His third pole is the first for a team for which he has already made hisory.

Toyota fans' fingernails would have been frantically chewed right down, as we watched the Iceman Kimi Raikkonen go out last, trying to snatch pole from Jarno Trulli. Cheers from the Toyota fans as Kimi was slower in the first sector, but it looked like it was over as Raikkonen was on track to set pole in the second sector. However, the Finn crossed the line 0.069s slower than Jarno, in a McLaren which is widely expected to be lugging around a little extra fuel than the Toyota.

Ralf Schumacher's late stand-in Ricardo Zonta set the 13th fastest time, sandwiched between Canadian Villeneuve and Austrian Klien.
