Fernando Alonso clinched pole position at Silverstone today, with the Flying Finn Raikkonen qualifying second. However, for the second time in contention, Raikkonen will face a ten place penalty after stopping on track with an engine failure,
promoting Button to the front row, much to the delight of the British crowd.
Juan Pablo Montoya told the press of how he must qualify ahead of one-lap specialist Trulli: "If Trulli gets ahead of you, your race is over, you are behind a traffic jam and that is not ideal for racing."
The Columbian completed his mission, qualifying +0.077s in front of the Toyota driver. Jarno, who completed the fastest final sector of anyone before him, will start on the 2nd row along with feisty Juan Pablo.
Ralf had a relatively low key performance, qualifying one place in front of his brother, and will start in 8th place.
