Handbags at dawn with Kimi and Jarno

Jarno Trulli, in his role of Grand Prix Drivers' Association director, has criticised Kimi Raikkonen for a very nochalant attitude to the safety of F1 drivers.

Finn Kimi Raikkonen is one of eight F1 drivers who have confirmed they will not attend safety talks with the FIA in Cannes on August 1st. The meeting will focus on safety provisions primarily at private tests.

The other seven could be forgiven for claiming they have made prior commitments, but Kimi Raikkonen bluntly told of how he blatantly "couldn't care" about the meeting.

“If Kimi has an accident in testing, let’s see if he doesn’t care about the assistance coming to him quickly,” Jarno responded to the Finn's irresponsible attitude.

But Trulli said that he was taking Kimi's comments at face value and he could have misinterpreted the Iceman.

“He always needs to be interpreted,” Trulli told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. “Who knows what he meant? You know what he’s like – whether he wins or loses a race his expression never changes.”
