Toyota get one over Honda

Honda might had hosted the Japanese Grand Prix with their Suzuka racetrack, but for 2007 the Japanese Grand Prix will be held in Toyota’s back garden, after Bernie Ecclestone confirmed that the championship will return to the Fuji International Speedway.

The last time the Formula One World Championship raced at the Fuji Speedway was back in 1977, but thirty years later, after an overhaul by Toyota, the championship is heading back to a circuit where James Hunt made his name.

Bernie Ecclestone, whose never far away from another cheque, said; "We, at FOA, have the pleasure that Fuji Speedway, as the brand new venue nestled at the foot of the most majestic Mt. Fuji, will be the new home of Japanese F1 Grand Prix. We also have a good expectation that the F1 event there would be the opening of new era of Formula One history."
