Briatore tells Jarno to “stop making up excuses”

There seems to be no love lost between Renault’s front man Flavio Briatore and his ex-employee Jarno Trulli. After Jarno Trulli slammed Ferrari’s number one, Michael Schumacher, after his blocking maneuver at Imola, Briatore has stepped into the ring.

Briatore has his own personal experience of an underperforming Jarno Trulli, after the Italian was sacked from Briatore’s Renault team midway through 2004. Since then the two have ‘kissed and made up’ and now see each other’s as friends then enemies in the Formula One paddock. But now the Renault principal is critical of Jarno was again ''Jarno is still a friend, but sometimes a driver should stop making up excuses and be able to say 'Ok, I made a mistake'.''

Its important to also note that Jarno Trulli’s contract at Toyota expires at the end of this season, although Jarno is keen to continue working with the Panasonic Toyota Racing team. If not, it has been rumoured that he could move back to Renault, but these comments seem to have dampened any sort of return.
