Guy Martin fastest man in the world at Ulster GP

During Saturday’s Jester Interactive Superbike race at the Ulster Grand Prix, taking place at the internationally famous circuit of Dundrod in Northern Ireland, Guy Martin put the Ulster GP road races back to the top of the tree.

Martin did this with an astounding fastest lap of 130.564mph of the 7.4-mile circuit, placing the Ulster Grand Prix event as the fastest road race event in the world today.

John McGuinness knocked the Ulster Grand Prix off its perch earlier in the year, with a plus 129 mph lap of the Isle Of Man TT course at this year’s Tourist Trophy races.

During the GP race, Guy was hounded throughout by Raymond Porter aboard the DMRR Honda, not allowing Guy to let up for one second. Raymond was so close that all Guy could hear was Raymond’s bike in close contention. Third man home was Ian Lougher aboard the Stobart Honda, with pole sitter John McGuinness having to retire on lap five suffering a rear puncture - after looking all set to win having had a terrific dice with Guy and Ian.
