New Era Club racer Ben Spicer on track at Brands

Ben Spicer has recently obtained his ACU racing licence, and is now entered for this year’s New Era championship. He will be in the ‘Club Championship,’ as he is riding (a very sexy!) Suzuki GSX-R1000, and is keen to recruit sponsors.

These are the first photos of Ben on his bike at Brands Hatch last week, and also on our friend’s bike (the S-RAD) at Brands last year - at track days in both cases. He was doing 57s on second-hand wets in his second session, but the sun came out again and we couldn’t afford to change tyres again! We’ve made a tyre-changer now, so that won’t be a problem at Cadwell Park in two weeks!

We are looking for any form of sponsorship, from anyone anywhere! As we all know, racing is a costly venture, and as much as we are ready for the first round at Cadwell, attending all the meets looks unlikely. Our close friend came second in the Novice championship last year, and we know that Ben is just as fast - who knows, probably faster with his new-found 170bhp!

The bike is fully tuned, too much to mention. Ben is a controlled, fast rider, and I know we are all expecting great things from him this year. Is there anyone who wants to be part of that? Advertising is the main reward for sponsorship, including names of people/companies on the bike, in every programme of each round, and of course on the web. Ben’s also hoping to enter the televised round, where he gets to play with the Superbike boys on track!
