Au revoir Justin Marshall

It was fun while it lasted. Justin Marshall was occasionally very good, even occasionally playing like a former All Black. Rather than finish his career with some real rugby, he's joined Toulon or rather for a change a side that plays Toulon, Montpellier. These Mediterranean slummers.

Everybody remembers Justin Warren Marshall, member of the New Zealand order of Merit, for being the man who dared to keep Mike Phillips off the rugby pitch and not being Dwayne Peel.

Watching him play at times was a pleasure, and at others a dirty pleasure. In Europe he was a masterful pivot, while in the Celtic League he could never quite cope with the frustration of rubbish refereeing, and nearly blew his Kiwi rag several times. Thanks Changleng (both of you).

Is this move a coincidence coming the day after the Magners League fixture were published, probably not, but I like to think so.

On the positive, at least we won't have to sit through his punditry on Scrum V, and by punditry I mean self promotion.
