Harrogate Town vs. Leigh RMI FA Trophy preview

The second instalment of this season's War of the Roses takes place at Wetherby Road on Saturday afternoon when RMI travel to Harrogate for an FA Trophy First Round tie.

RMI's last visit to Wetherby Road was only a matter of weeks ago when a stunning late strike from Harrogate left back Dave Merris gave the hosts a 2-1 victory, despite RMI holding the lead at half-time.

Since then however, RMI have played four games and won each one of them, including the 1-0 victory over Cammell Laird that saw RMI entered in to the First Round draw, while Harrogate secured their passage with a 1-0 win at Conference North rivals Alfreton.

Last weekend's 2-1 victory at Worcester was RMI's first win away from home in the league since winning at Nuneaton in August and could well prove to be the final barrier that had been preventing RMI from making on-field progress during the course of the season.

The winners of Saturday's tie will receive a valuable cheque for £4,000 along with the chance of testing their arm against Conference National opposition in the next round of the competition, including a potential money-spinning trip to Oxford United, should they win their own FA Trophy encounter.
