Humphreys claims award

RMI boss Stuart Humphreys has been rewarded for his side's good form throughout December with the presentation of the Conference North Manger of the Month award.

The award was officially confirmed on Wednesday evening, making Humphreys the first ever RMI manager to be presented with the award after leading his side to five wins and a draw throughout December, including victories over high-flying Worcester, Workington and Hucknall.

He will be hoping to avoid the so-called 'curse' that is supposed to affect previous managers of the award, including Worcester manager Andy Preece, who was presented with the award on the field immediately before RMI's 2-1 victory at St. George's Lane.

Nigel Clough of Burton Albion and Mark Yates of Kidderminster shared the award in the Conference National, while Martin Hayes (Bishops Stortford) and George Borg (Braintree) were the joint winners in Conference South.
