Leigh RMI vs. Worcester City preview

Having won the corresponding fixture at St. George's Lane in December, RMI will be looking for a rare league 'double' when Worcester visit Hilton Park on Saturday afternoon.

A thirty five yard John Dillon blockbuster clinched a 2-1 victory for Stuart Humphreys' side against a Worcester outfit who at that point were challenging for the automatic promotion spots, while RMI were in the midst of what was to become a superb nine game unbeaten run.

Since then, both sides have struggled somewhat with RMI falling back in to the relegation mire, while Worcester visit Hilton Park in eleventh place, though they are still just four points away from a play-off position.

Despite a spirited performance that saw several goal scoring chances created, RMI fell to a 3-2 defeat at home to Hinckley on Tuesday evening, while Worcester did RMI a huge favour in scoring a last minute winner to grab all three points from a 2-1 victory at second-bottom Redditch.

Although RMI are sitting in the third and final relegation spot, they are level on points with Scarborough with two games in hand on the Yorkshire side and will be looking to claw their way out of the relegation zone with victory on Saturday.

Former Bury defender Lee Unsworth is facing a race against time to be fit enough to take part in Saturday's game having pulled up with a hamstring injury in the 2-0 defeat to Hyde last Friday, with on-loan defender Liam Coyne set to retain his place in the centre of the RMI defence should Unsworth fail a late fitness test.

Kick off is at 3pm on Saturday afternoon, with admission costing £10 adults and £5 for concessions.
